The 29th African Union Summit concluded Tuesday reviewing various reports.
The summit has been conducted at AU headquarters here in Addis Ababa, under the theme, “Harnessing the Demographic Dividend through Investment in the Youth.”
The Summit reviewed reports on AU reforms, current peace and security in the continent, implementation of Agenda 2063 and the 2018 commission’s budget, among others.
In his closing remark, current Chairman of the African Union, President Alpha Condé, urged Africa to consult regularly and to speak with one voice.
In her farewell address, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, President of Liberia thanked the African health workers who assumed a lot of risks to serve in Ebola affected African countries, including in Liberia.
New Commissioners for Human Resources, Science and Technology and for Economic Affairs have been sworn in at the end of the Summit. [EBC]
